Terms and conditions
Please complete the online check-in form before your stay. By booking, you agree to these terms.
1. About these terms
This is a contract between Chevalier’s Properties Limited (the managing agent) and the person booking, together with every adult in the party. The property sleeps a maximum of 4 guests and is for holiday use only. Guests must look after the property, avoid causing a nuisance and not use it for anything unlawful.
Subletting, or booking on behalf of other people, is not allowed. Any such booking will be cancelled without refund.
2. Payment
Payment is made through the booking platform used, or directly to us. If an amount is not paid, we may cancel the booking and claim reasonable costs of recovering it.
3. Security deposit
A refundable security deposit of £200 applies per booking. It is normally returned within 1–14 days of check-out, after inspection, provided that the property is undamaged, the house rules were followed, it was left tidy and locked, with the back door key left inside the property, the linen is intact, there were no unauthorised early arrivals or late departures, and all charges are paid. We may pre-authorise a card for the deposit.
4. Charges
The following may be deducted from the deposit or charged to you:
- Lost back door key: £50, or the cost of replacement if higher
- Lock-out assistance: £50, or £100 after 9pm
- Unauthorised guests: £200
- Extra guests: £20 per person per night
- Smoking: £200
- Illegal drugs: £200
- Parties: £200
- Soiled linen: £15 per item
- Unauthorised early check-in: £30
- Reasonable costs of extra cleaning, call-outs and damage
5. Check-in and identification
Check-in is from 15:00. Photo ID is required for all adult guests before check-in details are sent. Early check-in must be agreed with us in advance.
6. Check-out
Check-out is by 10:00. Please make sure the property is locked and leave the back door key inside. Late check-out must be agreed in advance, otherwise a minimum charge of £50 applies. Leaving two or more hours late will cost at least the standard nightly rate, without discounts, and does not entitle you to an extra night. You are responsible for any costs caused by delaying other guests.
Please leave the property tidy, do not move furniture or remove items, and do not use candles or oil burners.
7. House rules
Maximum of 4 guests. Visitors must leave by 9pm; if more than 4 people are present after 9pm without our permission, the deposit is forfeited. Quiet hours are 9pm to 9am. There is zero tolerance for parties. Smoking, in any form, is not allowed. No pets. No illegal drugs: guests will be asked to leave, the police may be informed and the deposit is forfeited.
Breaking the rules may end the booking without refund and may lead to the charges in section 4. See also our house rules.
8. Housekeeping, linen and electrical items
Bed linen and towels are provided. Daily housekeeping is not included but may be available for a fee. You will need UK plug adaptors. Please switch off heated appliances and store them safely after use.
9. Keys, access and our right of entry
Access to the front door is by a keypad code, which we send on the morning of check-in. The only key is for the back door and is kept inside the property. Please report a lost key or any access problem straight away. We may enter the property for maintenance, in an emergency or if we suspect damage, normally after trying to contact you.
10. Cancellations and changes
Cancelling: a full refund is given if you cancel 30 or more days before check-in. Within 30 days the full cost is charged. No-shows are not refunded. Bookings made through a platform are also subject to that platform’s policy. See our cancellation policy.
Changes: we will try to help, but extra costs and an amendment fee may apply.
If we have to cancel: we will offer alternatives where we can. Otherwise we will refund you within 14 days, or pro-rata for a serious breakdown during your stay. We may end a booking for serious breaches, excess guests or abusive behaviour.
Events beyond our control: we are not liable for the effects of war, unrest, terrorism, disputes, disasters, fire, severe weather and similar events.
11. Problems during your stay
Please tell us straight away so we can put things right. Complaints must be made in writing by email during your stay or within 48 hours of check-out, and please speak to us before leaving early.
We do not offer compensation for events beyond our control, pests where reasonable steps have been taken, damage caused by guests, minor differences from the listing, or nearby roadworks.
12. Liability
You are responsible for your own safety and belongings. Vehicles are left at the owner’s risk and items left behind may be disposed of. Our liability is limited to the total amount you paid, except where the law does not allow this, such as for death or injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory rights are not affected.
13. Ending the stay early
We may end the booking without notice, and without refund, for non-payment or a serious breach. You must then leave and take your belongings, leaving the back door key inside the property.
14. Your personal data
We use your data to manage your booking and meet our legal obligations under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. See our privacy policy.
